John D. Culler boasts over three decades of experience in the advertising and public relations industry at Beyond Marketing. His diverse career encompasses various facets of the industry, including brand development, commercial and radio production, marketing planning and development, political consulting, and crisis management. Notably, he has also served as a guest lecturer on crisis management at the university level.

Culler is married to Ellen Varlas, an educator in Ohio County Schools. Together, they have a 35-year-old son named George. Raised in Wadsworth, Ohio, and Bradenton, Florida, Culler earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and marketing from the University of Florida and the University of South Florida. In 1987, he relocated to Wheeling.

Throughout his career, Culler has held leadership positions on several boards, including the Oglebay Institute Board of Trustees, Wheeling Health Right, the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce, and the Regional Economic Development Partnership. Currently, he serves as the chair of the Wheeling Police Civil Service Commission.
